  2. Hotel Seychelles: What to eat?

    food seychelles

The most important advice I can give you about local Seychelles food, the only one that will elevate you to another level than being a mere tourist and becoming a true traveler immersed in the local culture is to keep away from McDonalds as much as possible. When visiting Seychelles, there will be some excellent local food to try. Head to the local restaurants and go where locals go. For me, food, wine and water are part of the travel experience.

    What to eat in Seychelles?

Seychellois cuisine has been greatly influenced by the rich cultures of the islands. Creole cuisine, many seafood, coconut and curry are the most popular. The country’s main product, fish, is cooked in a variety of ways. Especially the red snapper which is very tasty and well known by the visitors. For the cheapest food, all you have to do is collect coconuts on the beach and learn how to open their terrible protection (not the shell, which is easy but a thick blanket of natural fibers, to open it you have to hit the coconut very strongly many times around the edges, sooner or later, the fibers eventually break).

    What to drink in Seychelles?

Seychelles has a fantastic nightlife that caters to tourists. The active nightlife is mainly around the big hotels and in addition to theaters, cinemas and discotheques, there are many trendy restaurants. If you like good beer you have to try the local beer Seybrew, it tastes similar to a Bavarian style beer and it is a must to end a peaceful day at the beach. You can simply buy a pack at roadside stores, such as locals rather than hotels. A Takamaka Rum on the beach on a starry night is the best way to end a day in the Seychelles.

Have a great time in the Seychelles!

  3. Celebrate the New Year in Seychelles

    Seychelles Christmas

For an unforgettable New Year’s Eve party

    Unforgettable Eden

Rather than prepare the evening greetings, those who wish to celebrate in small charming hotels, intimate, refined on enchanting sites, find in the Seychelles their paradise.

Attracted at first by these islands, where sometimes motorized traffic is banned, they notice, on closer inspection, that on this end of the virgin world, lined with beaches, time seems to have stopped at a slow pace of his ox charts and his bicycles!

    This destination is then obvious.

After a short stopover, on Mahé, the capital island, we take a tiny plane taxi for a flight of a few minutes to a small piece of land of absolute beauty. but it is especially after the departure of the visitors, in mid-afternoon that the island is the truest.

From one cove to another, one goes from the paradisiacal charm of a languid beach beneath the takamakas to a wild cove whipped by the swell. we could wander like this until the evening if the sandy path decided to stop abruptly facing a mythical beach.

A natural wonder, one of the jewels of Seychelles. A chaos of rounded rocks, 650 million years old, lined with a lush forest, coconut palms inclined on sparkling sand bathed by translucent waters.

What a great place to spend Christmas Eve and exchange greetings in a romantic way and send beautiful greeting cards to friends who stayed home!

    Happy Holidays in the Seychelles!

  4. Christmas In The Seychelles, The Sites Not To Be Missed

    santa in the seychelles

While many swear to celebrate Christmas in the snow and cold, it can be celebrated differently. Indeed, why not spend the Christmas holidays under the sun of the tropical islands? Seychelles is one of the ideal destinations among them. Endowed with an extraordinary natural wealth, this archipelago of the Indian Ocean makes dream more than a traveler. Its beautiful landscapes and beautiful beaches guarantee holiday makers unforgettable moments.

Christmas Party In The Seychelles, Discover The Digue And Its Natural Wonders

La Digue is one of the main islands of the Seychelles archipelago and is endowed with exceptional beauty. Many tourists consider it a real paradise. If you want to stay in the Seychelles during the Christmas holidays in peace and away from the noise of the city, this is the place you should go. Moreover, we cross the island on foot or in oxcarts, since there are no cars.

In addition, its magnificent beaches are famous throughout the world for their beauty, like the Anse Source d’Argent. Indeed, this beach is dotted with granite rocks that offer an unusual decor with white sand bordered by its turquoise blue waters. La Digue is also known for the nature reserve Veuve Nature Reserve located there. Fans and enthusiasts of ornithology will find their happiness, especially seeing the rare bird that is the “black widow” or the flycatcher.

Explore Vallee de Mai on Praslin

The Vallée de Mai Park is a must during a trip to Seychelles both in summer and during the Christmas holidays. It is on Praslin, one of Seychelles’ most visited islands. Apart from its famous beaches, the ecological reserve of the Valley of May is one of the most beautiful in the world and it is part of the world heritage of UNESCO.

Indeed, it is endowed with an almost virgin tropical forest which is the shelter of an exceptional fauna and flora, many of which are endemic. This is particularly the case of coconut palms, having as fruit the famous coco-buttock which is also the largest seed in the world. In addition, the latter is the symbol of Seychelles and where the coconut palms grow only on the island of Praslin.

    Visit The Atoll Of Aldabra

Aldabra Atoll, also known as Aldabra Islands, is a Seychellois atoll that you can visit while visiting the Seychelles. It is formed by several islands and is among the largest raised atolls in the world. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has an extremely rare wildlife, the most famous of which is the giant Seychelles tortoise found almost everywhere on the atoll.

In addition, its marine fauna also contains a remarkable richness. Scuba diving or snorkeling enthusiasts will be delighted to visit Aldabra Atoll. Moreover, the lagoon well preserved allows an unforgettable underwater ride for its visitors.

  5. Praslin and its most beautiful beaches: Lazio and Georgette

    praslin-anse-georgette-

    Postcard Beach: Anse Lazio

12 kilometers long and 4 kilometers wide, Praslin is the second largest island in the archipelago. A coastal road runs almost entirely from Anse Kerlan to the northeast and Anse Lazio to the northwest. On the other hand, there is only one road between Baie Sainte-Anne (west) and Grand Anse (east).

After a jump by Anse Volbert, the most touristic part of the island, head northwest to the most beautiful beach, that of Anse Lazio.

But first let’s take a little height! 340 meters, here we are at Grand Fond near the place called Zimbabwe. The hill is occupied by telecommunication antennas but still allows some nice escapes on the north of the island and the surrounding islands.

And here we are on the famous beach of Anse Lazio … with its beautiful sandy strip lined with takamakas and coconut trees, turquoise water, granite blocks … everything is there!

Only shadow on the board, the memory that here two swimmers perished recently, devoured by sharks! It’s cold in the back and the subject is in every conversation. To reassure the tourists, the authorities installed nets delimiting bathing areas of 150 meters by 50 meters. Not sure it’s really waterproof but it’s better than nothing. Besides, the bathers do not linger in the water and stay on the alert.

    Another mythical beach: Anse Georgette

It is located at the northeastern end of the island. Finally, after an hour and a half of walking, the beach known as one of the most beautiful in the world is ours! Its turquoise water invites you to swim but be careful, here without net, no question of getting wet higher than the knees.

Besides, several small sharks prowl around the edge in a few centimeters of water. Be careful, because if there are small children on the beach, it is not impossible that the mother is off! Also, stingrays on which it would be better not to set foot!

To top it all, a stormy sky accentuates the dramatic atmosphere of the place.

The complete loop (swimming and stopping on the beach included) will take you three hours.
